

Betty Sue Hartley Justice, 82, of Hudson passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 after a period of declining health.
Betty was born in Caldwell County to the late Roy Lee Hartley and Gladys Brown Hartley. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother who loved her family dearly and made sure no one left her house hungry. She was a lifetime member of Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church where she played the piano for over 50 years and loved her church and church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd Justice, and a sister, Pat Bumgarner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy Justice and wife Elaine of Hudson; her daughters, Rebecca Baldwin and Vickie O’Hare, both of Hudson; her grandchildren, Tracey Manning and husband Benji of Hudson, Kelly Henson and husband Jason of Hudson, Josh Justice and wife Maggie of Lenoir and Josh Ford and fiancé Carrie of Hickory; her great grandchildren, Morgan Manning, Natalie Manning, Maddie Henson, Mayleigh Justice and Dalton Manning; her brother, Ted Hartley and wife Dot of Granite Falls, and her sister, Beatrice “Bid” Keller of Hickory.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Nicky Waters and Reverend Benny Manning officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, September 19, 2014 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Benji Manning, Jason Henson, Josh Justice, Dalton Manning, David Shumate and Ethan Clark.
