Betty Jo Sawyer

In addition to her parents, Ms. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Sawyer and her son Dale Sawyer.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Dawn Sawyer of Lenoir, Dennis Sawyer of Lenoir, and David Sawyer of Connelly Springs, her four grandchildren Chad Sawyer, Ashley Francum, Tyler Sawyer, and Haley Sawyer, her three great-grandchildren Gunner Sawyer, Aspen Duncan, and Ivy Duncan, her sister Reathel Leuhsler of Cleveland, Ohio, several nieces and nephews, and many other beloved friends and family. For their care and dedication, special recognition goes to her niece Heidi O'Neal, her great-niece Avery Peele, and her granddaughter Ashley Francum.

Betty Jo was known for her contagious laughter, loving heart, generous spirit, and her compassion to help others. Her smile always lit up the room and offered comfort to those around her.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Amorem hospice for their care and support, especially Sharon Barnett and Annette Lackey.

A visitation will be Saturday, August 17th, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held immediately after at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, officiated by China Evans-McCall.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Doug Sawyer, Justin Sawyer, Don Craig, Austin Brown, Corey Keffer, Ryan Keffer, and Zach Oliver.
