Bonnie Lou Nelson

Mrs. Bonnie Lou Bryant Nelson , 74, of Lenoir passed on May 3, 2026, at the Shaire Center in Lenoir. Bonnie was born December 21, 1951, in Caldwell County to the late Junie Adam Bryant Sr and Mary Orie Setzer Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Ervin Nelson Sr., a brother: Floyd Bryant, Pete Bryant, JR Bryant sisters: Joann Nelson, Beverly Bryant, Joann Nelson and Jean Atkins.

Bonnie loved her children, grandchildren and her dog Toby. She and her late husband owned Whitnel Furniture and ran that together for many years.

She is survived by her children, a son, James Ervin Nelson Jr of Lenoir, a daughter, Jamie Nelson of Elkin, a brother Steve Bryant and a sister Linda Martin, all of Lenoir.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A service to honor Bonnie will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 1:30 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Funeral Home with Mr. Eric Nelson officiating.

The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior the service, from 12:45 pm until 1:15 pm at Pendry's Funeral Home.
