On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, our loving wife, mother and Nana, Brenda Ann Bradshaw Smith, 49, lost her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) after a very long, hard, and courageous fight at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Brenda was born October 13, 1971 in Caldwell County to the late Gordon Bradshaw and Dorothy Greer Bradshaw.
Those left to honor her legacy are her husband, and love of her life, Roger Smith of Lenoir; two daughters, Crystal Smith Wagoner and husband Harvey Wagoner Jr. of Ferguson, and Ashley Bradshaw of Lenoir.
She leaves behind three grandchildren, whom she adored and were the light of her life. Grandsons and fishing buddies, Hunter Wagoner and Kayden Laws; and granddaughter, Samaria Wagoner.
She also leaves behind two sisters, Reba Smith and husband Dennis, and Kay Watkins and husband Toby; two brothers, Butch Beaver and wife Connie, and Bobby Beaver.
Brenda will be remembered as someone whom loved to care for everyone. She has proven her love of people by many years of CNA work. When she wasn’t taking care of her patients you could find her on a creek bank somewhere fishing. She was most definitely passionate and very competitive to get the biggest fish. She also enjoyed her time on the back of the motorcycle, on the boat fishing, up at her camper on Wilson’s Creek, working in her garden, and raising chickens.
A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Pendry’s Funeral Home in Lenoir with the Reverend Brian Dula officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
On behalf of the family we want to thank all of her caretakers from Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for their love and support during the last 14 months.
Pendry’s Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Brenda Ann Bradshaw Smith.
