Carlis "Sunshine" Hood

Born August 16, 1945 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Simon Mac Hood and Patsy Shell Hood.

Mr. Hood attended Gamewell-Colletesville High School and was a member of Bible Way Church #3. He was a former member of Hood’s Chapel Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, John, June, Sonny, Joe and Billy and two sisters, Peggy Corpening and Edna Corpening.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosemarie Hood; son, Carlous (B-bop) Hood of Lenoir; his daughters, Crissy (Kenny) Hood-Wesson of Durham and Chera (Nana) Hood of Lenoir; two sisters, Lorraine Rhinehardt and Joyce Hood. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

The funeral service to celebrate Sunshine’s life will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pendry’s Chapel with Bishop F. Hester, Overseer I. Corpening, Overseer J. Caldwell, and Mother C. Dula officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hood’s Creek Cemetery.
