Carolyn Lyons

Mrs. Lyons was born in Watauga County to the late Walter and Effie Watson. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Watson.

She was a retired furniture worker, avid bowler and an Ambassador to the Unifour Senior Games.

Mrs. Lyons is survived by her husband of 52 years Ernest “Ernie” Lyons, a daughter Sybil Lyons of Hudson, a son Michael Lyons and wife Pam of Hudson and one granddaughter Kenya Lyons of Hudson.

She is also survived by brother-in-laws, Gene Lyons of Lawsonville, NC Jams C “Red” Lyons and wife Peggy of Boone, Donald Lyons and wife Lu of Lenoir, Doyle Lyons and wife Brenda of Christiansburg, VA, sister-in-laws, Helen Norris of Granite Falls and Rachel Lyons of Mooresville, three brothers; Edwin Watson of Parma, Ohio, Roger Watson and wife Bobby of Boone, two sisters; Nina Ruth Davis of Boone and Joyce Greene of Lenoir, and a number of nieces and nephews and special friends Debbie and Nelson Bailey of Hudson. Special Recognition goes to Carolyn’s extended bowling family in the Unifour area, especially the Monday and Wednesday Senior leagues at the Pin Station.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:30 at Pendry’s Chapel with Dr. D. Rick Crouse officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 prior to the service.
