Charles Buddy Watkins

Charles Buddy Watkins, age 73, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 22, 1950 to the late Clarence and Mary Albert Watkins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Watkins.

Mr. Watkins was a veteran of the United States Navy and during the last two years of his service, he served in the Navy Band as a trumpet player. Before his service in the Navy, he served as a police officer in Miami. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and was the Maintenance Supervisor of the Miami Dade Metro Zoo until his retirement.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Rosa Watkins of the home, a daughter, Julia Ramos of Naples, Florida, Matthew Coffey, whom he loved as a son, four step-daughters, Kelly Wellborn and husband Kurt, Lisa Hart, Traci Williams and husband Jason and Beverly Bowman all of Lenoir, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Rocky Watkins of Miami, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Baptist Church on Collettsville Road in Lenoir with Rev. Jeff Hoyle officiating.
