She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Caroline Sadlowski, her brothers Steve and Neil and a brother-in-law, David Moore.
Christine’s life was defined by perseverance, compassion, and service to others. With two small children at home, she put herself through nursing school and earned her R.N., beginning a 16-year career as a neonatal nurse. She later transitioned to geriatric nursing and, while working full-time, completed her B.S. in Nursing. Christine ultimately served as a traveling Director of Nursing, a role that brought her to Marshall, Missouri.
Between her years in neonatal and geriatric nursing, Christine discerned a calling to religious life and entered formation with the Dominican Sisters. Although God ultimately chose a different path for her, the experience shaped her faith in lasting ways. In 2025, she formally became a Dominican Associate—an affiliation she cherished deeply and regarded as a meaningful culmination of her lifelong devotion to the Order’s values of study, service, and compassion.
It was in Marshall that Christine met Matt, whom she decided was worth retiring for. They married in December 2019 and spent their years together traveling, visiting loved ones, and embracing new adventures. In July 2024, they began their final journey together by relocating to North Carolina.
Christine will be remembered for her boundless kindness, quiet strength, and selfless heart. She was the one family and friends called with medical questions, personal crises, or simply when they needed reassurance. She never hesitated to leave home and stay by the side of someone who needed her. During her years in Missouri, she served her parish and community through various ministries and played a key role in establishing a local homeless shelter—an effort that reflected her lifelong commitment to caring for the vulnerable.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 328-B Woodsway Ln NW, Lenoir, NC 27645. There will be no visitation.
