CLYDE NEILL HOWARD, Sr.

Clyde Neill Howard, Sr. 74 of Lenoir, NC, passed away, Friday, July 23, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.

Mr. Howard was born in Caldwell County to the late Samuel Hicks and Hazeline Patterson Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Reid Howard, one brother, Ernest Howard, Sr., and one sister, Corrine Pettice.

He was a member of Burgess Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy Lee Surratt of Fort Bragg, NC and Clyde Neill Howard, Jr. of Granite Falls, NC; two daughters, Freda Reid of Conover, NC and Glenda McMillan of Lenoir, NC; one sister, Floretta Dula of Granite Falls, NC; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 4:00 pm in Pendry’s Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be placed to the Howard Family, 1310 Trinity Place, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
