Clyde Paris Williams, age 95, of Lenoir went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Clyde was born in Caldwell County on January 28, 1930 to the late James Carl Williams and Ada Phillips Williams.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Nicie Elena Parton Williams; his grandchildren James Bradley Williams, Holly Suzanne Haynes, Joshua Grant Hamm, and Kyle Caudill; his great-grandchildren Connor Lynn Townsend and Elijah Grant Hamm; his siblings Vester Lee Williams, Connie Hollar, Lucille Watson, and Word Williams.
Left to cherish Clyde's memory are his two sons, Steve Douglas Williams of Lenoir and Jeffrey Scott Williams (wife Amy) of Lenoir; two daughters, Susan Diane Williams Hamm of Lenoir and Kathy Williams Turnmire (husband Greg) of Glen Allen, VA; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Clyde served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from Bernhardt Industries. He was a very dedicated husband during his wife's prolonged illness, as well as a loving father and grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Pendry's Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Pendry's Chapel with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Scott Williams, Thomas J. Williams, Kevin Price, Ethan Price Miller, Michael Townsend, and Joshua Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Townsend and Hudson Messer.
Memorial donations may be made to AMOREM Hospice, Disabled American Veterans, or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
