David Garland Shatley

He was born February 3, 1954 in Caldwell County to the late Garland and Betty Shatley.

Mr. Shatley was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He loved to carp fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Shatley, of the home; three daughters, Franchesca Pennell and husband Shane of Granite Falls, Crystal Laws of Gamewell, and Destiny Shatley of the home; two sons, Timothy Dean Shatley and wife Lorraine of Corpus Christi, Texas and D.J. Shatley and wife Ashley of Wayland, Missouri; three step-sons, Michael McKinney of Lenoir, Travis McKinney of Hildebran, and Josh McKinney of Morganton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Shatley of Tacoma, WA and Bruce Shatley of Lenoir; and two sisters, Lisa Thompson and Patricia Watson, both of Lenoir.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pendry’s Chapel with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
