Earl Franklin Hood

Mr. Hood was born in Caldwell County to the late Horace J. Hood and Ida Collins Hood. Mr. Hood was a retired saw operator at Broyhill Furniture Factory and attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Holman Hood; his son, Gary Dean Hood; his brother, Gwyn Hood; and his sister, Colene Holman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Ronnie Helton and wife, Frankie of Granite Falls; his daughter, Linda Kay Hood of the home; his grandson, Gary Dean Hood Jr. and wife, Pangda of Granite Falls; his great-grandaughter, Sakura Hood of Granite Falls; and his great-grandson, Parker Helton of Morganton.

A funeral service will be held, Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the Pendry’s Chapel at 3:00 p.m with Reverend Leonard Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
