Mrs. Geneva “Boots” Kirby Anderson, 79, of Hudson, NC, passed away, Thursday, May 19, 2011.
“Boots” was born on December 28, 1931 in Caldwell County to the late Charles Wakefield and Effie Leigh McDade Kirby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Leigh Anderson; two brothers, Hunter and Jack Kirby; three sisters, Opal K. Price, Irene K Huss, and Rachel K. Bell.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and retired from Caldwell County Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Jack Anderson; two sons, Terry Wakefield Anderson and Kirby Todd Anderson and wife Allison, all of Lenoir, nC; one brother, George W. Kirby and wife, Eleanor of Hudson, NC; four grandchildren, Amber Anderson Hamby, Jarrett Gray Anderson, Marina Nicole Anderson, and Alex Spencer Anderson; one great grandchild, Emma Lauren Hamby.
A funeral service for “Boots” will be held, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Pendry’s Chapel with Pastor Jim Hamby officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Hudson, NC.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Johnson, Greg Cook, Hunter Cook, Brandon Banks, Bruce Reese, and Steve Rich.
Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
