Mrs. Chester was born August 25, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Joseph William Trivette and Annie Belle Trivette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert (GR) Chester, sons, Robert Wayne “Moto” Chester, Barry Eric Chester, grandchildren, Melanie Chester, Scott Swanson and Shane Chester.
Freda was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. The time spent with her family and friends was her greatest joy. She was a strong, compassionate woman with a heart of gold who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Billy Chester of Lenoir, Daughters, Joyce Spears and husband David of Gamewell, Barbara Oliver and husband Garlund of Lenoir, Debra Archer and husband Bob of Denver and Karen Nelson and husband Willie of Lenoir. Also left to cherish her memory are twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Whitnel First Baptist Church with Rev. Stuart White and Rev. Steve Hedgecock officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, Phillip Chester, Dylan Armentrout, Ethan Sparks, Dallas Greene and Mark Greene.
