Gene was born on January 31, 1950 in Lenoir, NC to Ray and Plummie Laws. Gene was an avid baseball player in his youth, loved the outdoors, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed his time as the owner of The Corner Package Store in Lenoir, where he made many friends.
Gene is survived by his longtime companion, Shirley Daniels; Son, Tony (Samantha) Laws; Grandchildren, Fisher Laws, Garison Laws and Abby “Sissy” Barlow; Siblings, Betty Setzer, Bryan (Doris) Laws, and Alan Laws; Former spouse, Beverly Laws (mother to his son, Tony). He is also survived by five beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Waterlife Church on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
