Georgia Pritchard Ellis

Mrs. Ellis was born in Caldwell County to the late Katherine Lutz Pritchard and Arlie B. Pritchard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Avery Odell Ellis; sisters, Nina Clark and Betty June Pritchard and a brother, Doyle Pritchard.

She was an accomplished artist and pianist at several of the local churches throughout her life. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, James Louis Ellis and wife Pam of Lexington, NC; daughters, Glenda Kay Ellis Scragg and husband Greg of Lenoir and Kathie Arlene Ellis Harmon and husband Steve of Lenoir; brothers, Barry Pritchard of Lenoir and Jerry Pritchard and wife Jan of Hudson; a sister, Anita Bolick of Lenoir; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Pendry’s Chapel Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Reverend James Louis Ellis and Reverend Bobby Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at the Ellis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Pendry’s Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Ellis, Taylor Woody, Doug Hicks, Jimmy Henson, Wesley Ollis, Dustin Hicks, Mike Billings and Brad Laws.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
