She loved gardening and working outside in her flowers. She was the daughter of the late Curtis and Mildred Lowe Bailey. From a large family of fifteen, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Surviving siblings are four sisters and one brother.
Gladys is survived by her three children; Ernie and Roger Huffman of Buncombe County and one daughter Donna Johnson of Caldwell County. She has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will hold services privately at a later date.
