Grace Watson

Mrs. Watson was born October 25, 1923 in Caldwell County to the late Finley and Lula Bolick Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dillard Watson; and one brother, Ernest “Bud” Smith.

Survivors include one son, Dale S. Watson and wife Doris of Lenoir, NC; one brother, Luther Smith of Lenoir, NC; two sisters, Catherine Robinson of Valdese, NC and Beulah Lackey of Spruce Pine, NC; two granddaughters, Donna Vance of Hudson, NC and Dana Cogdell of Granite Falls, NC; and five great, great grandchildren Hailey Rominger, Travis Vance, Gracie Vance, and Joshua and Emily Cogdell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Watson will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Craven and Reverend Marvin Yarborough officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service.

The Watson family would like to send their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care for the tender and loving care they gave to Mrs. Watson.
