Harold Wayne Church

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Church, mother Ruth Paige, brother Roger Church, and daughter Kim Craig.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years Ruby Townsend Church, his daughter Kris Norwood (husband Joel Norwood), sisters Brenda Childers (husband Terry) and Gail Rhoney, 5 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Harold was an avid deer hunter for many years and loved spending time in the woods and at the cabin with his grandsons. He was a master at woodworking and could build anything. He was a great dad to his 2 girls and had a host of nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church for many years and loved watching David Jeremiah on tv after he was unable to go to church. He was always known for his jokes and making everyone laugh. His family will miss him dearly, but will meet him again one day in our heavenly home.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd., Lenoir, NC 28645.

A funeral service will be held following the receiving at 1:15 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will take place privately at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Banner Elk.
