“GRANNY”

Mantha Irene Mask Williams, 91 of Lenoir, NC, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was loved by everyone who knew her and was known as “Granny Williams.”

Mrs. Williams was born in Burke County, May 26, 1919 to the late John Clarence Mask and Caroline Elizabeth West Mask. She is preceded in death by her step mother Emma Paige Mask, twin infant brother, daughters Carolyn McGinnis, Rebecca Williams, sons Alfred and Jimmy Williams, grandsons Marshall Scott Williams, Ricky McGinnis, granddaughters Mantha KayVean and Dawn Burnett, brother Paul Mask

Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Williams of the home, Keith and Pat Williams, Marshall and Darlene Williams, Tommy and Kathy Williams, Steve and Debbie Williams and her daughters Linda and Jeff Wright, Betty and Robert Beshears, grandsons, Kevin, Kris, Ted, Steve Allen, Daniel and Dustin Williams, Shane and Heath Snyder and Jeff Jones, granddaughters, Cindy Lakey, Sherry Mooney and Michelle Keefer, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Peggy Loudermilk, Mrs. Hazel Pecora and Mrs. Billy Kay Holland.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 13, 2010 at Pendry’s Funeral Home in Lenoir from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with the Reverend Chuck Marbry and Reverend Sam Craven officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Williams’s grandsons.
