Mr. Brooks was born in Caldwell County to the late Etta Mull Brooks and John Edmond Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Survivors include his brother, Alvin Brooks of Granite Falls, and a host of other family members.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Craven officiating. Burial will follow at North Catawba Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Union Grove Baptist Church.
The Brooks family requests that memorials be made to the Rosehill Retirement Home, 120 Fleming Ave, Marion, NC 28752.
