James Doyle Lingle Jr.

Mr. Lingle was born on August 24, 1932 in Caldwell County to the late James Doyle Lingle, Sr. and the late Nita Overcash Lingle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Asbury Lingle.

Mr. Lingle was a very generous, kind man that loved life and loved animals even more. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Lenoir, NC. He retired from Dunn & Bradstreet in Charlotte, NC after many years of service.

The Lingle family was very instrumental in forming and establishing what is now the City of Lenoir, NC.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan Shumaker and husband, Charles of Marion, NC; two grandchildren, Tyler Austin Shumaker of Marion, NC and Jennifer Elaine Garcia of Charlotte, NC; and his companion, Cheryl Foster of Myrtle Beach, SC.

A graveside service for Mr. Lingle will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at Belleview Cemetery in Lenoir, NC with the Reverend Tony Cook of Marion, NC officiating. The receiving of friends will be private.
