Mrs. Dewitt was born December 3, 1933 in Burke County to the late Wade Deal and Mable Wheeler Deal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Eugene Dewitt, a daughter, Shirley Ann Dewitt Bowman and a brother, Worth Henry Deal.
Jaunita was member of Ambassador Baptist Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her biggest joy. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her flowers, especially her roses. She also looked forward to her weekly trip to Ambassador Baptist Church to work with the John and Romans Ministry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Dula of Lenoir, brothers, Donald Deal of Morganton, Phillip Deal of Lenoir, Charles Deal of Pensacola Florida, sister, Betty Jean Deal Pruett of Lenoir, her grandchildren, Max Ryan Dula of Sawmills, Christopher Tyler Dula of Lenoir, Cheryl Laws of Ferguson, Misty Greene of Morganton, 8 precious great-grandchildren and 3 great –great grandchildren. Last but not least is her grand-dog, Frankie who was her constant companion.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Ambassador Baptist Church in Hudson with Rev. Robert Setzer officiating. Burial will follow the service at North Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
