Jimmy was born and raised in Lenoir. He was an accomplished musician, an avid fisherman, and a man who was interested in all things. Jimmy was friendly to everyone and he always made you laugh. His family and friends meant the world to him.
He had a big heart and he was a blessing to everyone who knew him. His faith in God carried him through many trials.
He was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Wayne Smith, Jr., his wife Justina Milam Smith, and his parents Henry and Velvie Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are his granddaughter Emisen Smith of Virginia, his sisters Rachel Greer of Lenoir and Geraldine Milton of Virginia, an aunt, Alma Crawley of Black Mt., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Jimmy's wishes, there will not be any services.
