John Maxion Parrish Jr.

John Maxion Parrish Jr. passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 74. He was a resident of Granite Falls, North Carolina. He was born on October 31, 1951, in High Point, North Carolina to the late John Maxion Parrish Sr. and Edna Parrish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Michael Parrish and a sister, Joy Jackson.

Mr. Parrish worked as a truck driver for many years. He was proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during Vietnam. He was an honest, hard working man, dedicated to his family. He enjoyed playing a guitar to old 70's rock music and listening to music.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 51 years, Janice Johnston Parrish of the home, son, Robert Lee Parrish and wife Terri of Granite Falls, a daughter-in-law, Sherry Parrish of Banner Elk, brother Keith Parrish and wife Ann of Winston Salem, sister, Kathy Bunn and husband Richard of Garner, grandchildren, Daniel Parrish of Banner Elk, Tiffani Barlow and husband Josh of Fletcher, Kristen Massey and husband Davis of Granite Falls, and Ryan Parrish and fiancé, Christie Seifert of Mooresville, and his great grandchildren, Jayce and Declan.

A funeral service to honor Mr. Parrish will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home in Lenoir at 2:15 pm with Rev. Mike Isaacs officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
