

Junie "Nancy" Margaret Vance, of Lenoir, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 88. Nancy was born on July 12, 1937, to the late Robert Johnson and Eva Coeburn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, John Henry Vance, Sr., her sisters Alma Keene and Anne Hatley, and her brother Doyle Johnson.
Left to cherish Nancy's memory are her children Geraldine "Jerri" Stanley, Janice Vance (Fred Hardin), John Vance, Jr. (Jerrie), and Dawn Buffamoyer; her sister Elizabeth Vance (Kenneth); her grandchildren Kim Gragg, Wendy Horton, Carie Ward, Amanda Wood, Brittany Harpe, Brooke Morton, and John David Buffamoyer; 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews; and the family would like to recognize her special friends Marshall Daniels, Betty Lipps, Trina Haigler, and Pastor Steve Hedgecock.
Nancy will be remembered for her outgoing nature and her independent spirit. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with her friends, especially those she played Bingo with. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor John Barnhardt. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Haigler, Eastyn Morton, Michael Morton, Tim Gragg, Robbie Vance, and Travis Vance.
