Karen Virginia “Ginnie” Curtis White of Elk Creek/Darby Road, Ferguson, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Winston Salem.

Mrs. White was born in Caldwell County to the late Frances Watson Shatley. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence White and a sister, Diane Curtis.

She was a great cook and no one left her home hungry. She was a caring loving lady and loved her Lord. She was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church.

Survivors include her father, Charlie Shatley of Lenoir; her son, Jerry Shew and wife Michelle of Lenoir; her brothers, Keith Curtis of Lenoir, and Mike Curtis and wife Kim of Lenoir; her sisters Jean Lingle of Lenoir and Denise Norris and husband Dennis of Valdese; her granddaughter who was her pride and joy, Marina Shew.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Indian Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Harris, Reverend Randy Watson and Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Triplett-White Family Cemetery in Ferguson. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Watson, Greg Lingle, Chris Lingle, Tony Barker, Gary Barker and Charlie Curtis.
