Kathleen Hamby Minton

Grace Viola Kathleen Hamby Minton, 60, of Ferguson, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Lenoir.Mrs. Minton was born in Wilkes County to the late Thomas Lennie Hamby and Jeanous Cordelia Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Tommy, Vaughn, Charlie, Fred, Clyde and Jerry Hamby. She attended Gospel Truth Ministries.Survivors include daughter, Teresa L. McManis and husband, Jesse D. of California; her sons, Christopher W. Minton and wife Tina of Lenoir and Aaron R. Minton and wife Alisha of Wilkesboro; friend, Richard Crump; three brothers, Bill Hamby of Mooresville, Lawrence Hamby of Hudson and Ralph Hamby of Burgaw, NC; three sisters, Nellie Minton and husband Glenn of Hudson, Kate Walsh and husband David of Ferguson and Juanita Sawyers and husband Dennis of Wilkesboro; seven grandchildren, Timmy, Jesse, Arian, Marissa, Ashlyn, Marinn and Aiken.A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Mike Minton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery in Deep Gap. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Pendry’s Funeral Home.Serving as pallbearers will be V. C.
