Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Brown, age 82, of Lenoir, North Carolina entered into his eternal home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Friday, January 24, 2025. Kenneth was born to the late Daniel and Cora Brown in Wilkes County on May 15, 1942.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, EL Brown, Eugene Brown, William Brown, five sisters, Rosie Cleary, Tate Green, Eddie Wagoner, Novella Brown, Annabelle Wyatt, Ina Simmons and a stepdaughter, Nancy Davis.

Kenneth was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted child of God and loved his Lord. The outdoors was his happy place, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his grandsons and he really enjoyed using his chain saw and running his sawmill. He liked to watch westerns on TV, hanging on to his remote and eating popcorn with molasses and drinking cold diet Mountain Dew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Trula Cox Brown of the home, a daughter, Connie Meyer and husband Rusty of Hudson, step-sons, Andy Edwards of Burnsville, Clifford Edwards and wife Sandy of Lenoir, step-daughters, Dana Edwards of Lenoir, Paula Watson of Lenoir, grandchildren, Kailyn Hendrix and husband Gordon, Darrian Vaught, 11 step-grandchildren, Wayne, Gene, Nikki, Brandy, Ashley, Bradley, Jamie, David, Ira, Clifford and Justin. Also surviving are 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Sumlin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Brown, Rusty Meyer, Wayne Miller, Jamie Miller, Eugene Edwards and Mike Norris. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Javian Banner and Gordon Helms.

The family will receive friends from 12:15 pm until 1:45 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
