Kenneth William Shinn

Mr. Kenneth William Shinn, 59, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Hudson.

He was born on October 17, 1960 to Sherman William Shinn and the late Jewell Pauline Harris-Fowler.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his cousin, Mike Harris and brother-in-law Gary Harrison.

Kenny was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He enjoyed working on old cars in his spare time, as well as playing his guitar. Fishing seemed to be one of his favorite hobbies. He was a licensed Minister and a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Patricia Shinn; son, Joshua Shinn and wife Heather of Hickory; daughter, Crystal Wilson and husband Ronnie of Granite Falls; brothers, Darren Shinn of Granite Falls, Jake Fowler and wife Lynn of Granite Falls, Ed Fowler of Sawmills; step brothers, Kenneth Coffey and Terry Coffey; sisters, Cathy Lail and husband Todd of Granite Falls, Debbie Shinn of Hickory, Stacey West and husband J.D. of Connelly Springs.

A funeral service to honor Mr. Kenneth Shinn will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with Pastor Wallace Smith and Bishop Dennis Pitts officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:00PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

Trish, Tammy Church and family, I am so sorry to hear about Kenny. He was a wonderful person. I really enjoyed the time when we all went to Cajahs Mtn. Church of God together. I remember Kenny being so friendly, nice, and fun to be around. He would always make me laugh at something he would say. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I miss seeing you all. Met Kenny and Trish at Faith Baptist Church around 1999. Such wonderful loving people. My prayers are with the family and may the Lord give them all peace and comfort. Heaven certainly gained another angel.
