She was preceded in death by husbands D.C. Abernathy and S.C Hamrick, son Charles D. Abernathy, five brothers and one sister.
She was a member of Gamewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one sister, one son Glenn, one daughter Carla, two granddaughters Sherron of Hawaii and Barbara of PA., one grandson Joseph of Lenoir, one great grandson Ira Michael of The US Navy, and nieces and nephews.
Receiving will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 6pm – 8pm. Graveside services, conducted by Reverend Alice Day, will be Sunday at 2pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home of Glenn and Teresa Hamrick at other times.
