November 2020 Lewis was diagnosed with colorectal cancer that soon spread to his liver.
Lew made sure the family knew that he was "thankful" for cancer - he would want everyone to understand that statement.
Lew was saved as a teen; however, his relationship with God did not grow. Cancer brought him closer to God and renewed his faith. God pruned him and he blossomed into this wonderful God-loving man.
Lew never let cancer control who he was. He fought with courage and his famous quote was "God's Got This". The day he was ushered into Heaven, his brother Will, his sister Kayleigh, and his mom Debbie were struggling knowing he was close to leaving them. This was day 11 and in walks a sweet little lady, the chapelain. We know she was truly sent by God with a message from Lew - she was wearing a badge that said "God's Got This".
He is deeply missed, but Lew's faith, strength, courage and love (as well as his sense of humor) will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
