Loretta Saunders Suddreth

Mrs. Loretta Saunders Suddreth, of Patterson, NC, completed her journey to Heaven, Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

Mrs. Suddreth was born on May 17, 1944 in Caldwell County to Thelma Gragg Saunders of Hudson, NC and the late John Donald Saunders. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Saunders.

She graduated from Collettsville High School and attended Lees McRae College. Loretta was a faithful and active member of Yadkin Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving the Lord. She was retired from Lenoir Furniture Corpration of Broyhill Industries where she served as Facility Nurse.

She also enjoyed watching ACC basketball, especially the UNC Tarheels. Loretta loved spending time with family and dear friends.

Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, Samuel Jay Suddreth of the home; two sons Eric Coffey of Holly Hill, SC and Philip Suddreth and wife, Debbie of Hickory, NC; two daughters, Tanya Edwards Thomas and husband, Mark of Travelers Rest, SC and Crystal Coffey Swanson and husband, Heath of Lenoir, NC; two sisters, Ruby Eller of Lenoir, NC and Lois Huskey of Forest City, NC; two brothers, John Saunders of Hudson, NC and Joe Saunders of Ellicott City, MD; six grandchildren, Brittany, Dillon, Kara, Sam, Anna, Indee Jo, Brystal and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Suddreth will be held, Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Yadkin Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kent Huskey, David Saunders, Abrahm Saunders, Matthew Saunders, Jeff Moffitt, Morgan McKinney and Ryan Carroll.

She has been a blessing to those who knew her. She will be treasured for her gift of always putting others first. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, Nana, and friend. Her sweet smile and great sense of humor will be greatly missed.
