

Born in Ashe County, she was the daughter of the late Len and Fannie Younce.
Louise worked as the manager of Germans Furniture in Granite Falls for many years. She loved working in her flower gardens and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. Mrs. Cook was a lady that always had to be completely dressed everyday in her best clothing and jewelry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Russell Cook, one daughter, Mary Ellen Wilcox, and two brothers, Howard Younce and Clay Younce.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Tommy Wilcox and wife Pat, of Lenoir, James Wilcox and wife Minnie of Wilkesboro; one daughter, Jeanell Pruett and husband Richard, of the home; four grandchildren, Angie Cordes and husband Darius of Lenoir, Tami Bolick and husband Danny, Marty Nichols and wife Julie, Scotty Nichols and wife April of Wilkesboro; twelve great-grandchildren, Chase Keller, Gavin Keller, Macie Bolick, Leah Bolick, Autumn Nichols, Anslee Nichols, Addy Nichols, Sydney Nichols, Katie Nichols, Bo Nichols, Carson Cordes and Candace Cordes.
Also surviving are three brothers, Worth Younce, Jim Younce, and Jay Younce; and four sisters, Helen Craig, Glenda Winkler, Shirley Walker, and Myrtle Houck.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Lingerfelt and Rev. Allan Younce will officiate. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, September 10, 2012 from 6:00 PM -7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cook’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Carson Cordes, Darius Cordes, Gavin Keller, Danny Bolick, Scotty Nichols and Marty Nichols. Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Keller. `
