Margie Jane Gragg Matheson

Mrs. Matheson was born in Avery County to the late Ervin Gragg and Ruth Gragg. She was a homemaker and she attended Boone Fork Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved her family. She enjoyed writing poetry, singing playing guitar and organ. She loved gospel, folk and bluegrass music.

Those left to cherish her memory are mother Ruth Gragg of Blowing Rock, her sons Dennis Matheson of Blowing Rock, Barry Matheson of Blowing Rock, Jeffrey Matheson and wife Annie of Lenoir. Three brothers Douglas Gragg of Blowing Rock, Roger Gragg of Maggie Valley, Danny Gragg of Blowing Rock, Sisters, Wanda Justice of Blowing Rock, Lucille Bolick of Blowing Rock, Barbara Hodge of Banner Elk, Margaret Hackney of Newland and Anna Mae Storie of Hudson. Also left to cherish her memory are sixteen grandchildren.

The service will be Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Boone Fork Baptist Church with Reverend Bill McGuire officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Boone Fork Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Gragg, Casey Gragg, Matt Gragg, Mike Gragg, Bobby Hodge and Rider Austin.
