Mary Jean Patterson Glass, age 86, of Granite Falls passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 27, 1938 to the late Charles and Florence Patterson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Paul Joseph Glass, Jr. and her ten siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen Isbell and husband Maurice of Granite Falls, her son Timothy Glass of Charlotte; her three grandchildren Ryan Isbell, Kayla Isbell, and Martavious Isbell, her great granddog Big Daddy, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jean will be remembered for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile. For many years, Jean worked as a bank teller and retired from First Union and Bank of Granite. She was a member of New Beginnings Worship Center. She participated in the North Carolina Senior Games (Red Foxes) and won several medals over the last 17 years. She was always seen with her daughter Karen at South Caldwell basketball games. She was also a member of the Red Hatters of Lenoir.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 15th at 4:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home officiated by Apostle L'Tanya Perry. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
