Mary Lou Stewart

Mary Lou Herman Stewart, 89, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

Mrs. Stewart was born May 19, 1926 in Burke County to the late Robert Lee Herman and Laura Lou Lail Herman.

Mrs. Stewart was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for many years as a quality control specialist for a steel manufacturing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Will Stewart, five brothers; Howard, Murl, Earl, Cecil and Charles Herman and one sister; Margie Lee Thompson.

Those left to cherish her memory are, a son; Steven Sides and wife Betty of Lenoir, daughters; Karen Sides of Lenoir, Jennifer Reep and husband Wayne of Hickory Donna West and husband Benny of Lenoir and a sister; Vera Davis of Nevada. Also left to cherish her memory are ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Garden in Lenoir. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Richard Blankenship, Andy Gilbert, Justin Eaches, Robbie Shatley, James High and Logan Walker.
