Mary Nell Walden Holman

Mary Nell Holman, 93, of Lenoir, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2016 at her residence.

Mary was the daughter of the late Elijah Walden and Anna Belle Combs Walden.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Ira E. Holman, 1 sister Lula Stevenson, and a brother Douglas Walden.

Those left to cherish Mary’s precious memory include a son, Douglas Holman and wife Diane of Hickory; 2 daughters; Paula Holman Vanderbloemen and husband John of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Sherry Holman Austin and husband Ed of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren; April Holman, Mark Holman, Andrew Austin and Jennifer Thomas Wallis; and 4 Great Grandchildren; Riley Austin, Jack Austin, Cassidy Austin, Ryder Wallis.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bob Hodges will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to First Advent Christian Church of Lenoir, PO Box 1714 Lenoir, NC 28645.
