Maryetta Brawley-Guthrie

Maryetta Brawley Guthrie, age 78, of Hickory, North Carolina passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. Maryetta was born in Pierce County, Washington to the late Thad Martin and Ruby Fowler Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Neil Brawley and second husband, Ronald Guthrie, a special friend, George McManus, and her faithful companion - her dog, Angel.

Maryetta was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She never sat down, always living life to the fullest whether it be fishing, growing flowers, riding horses, dancing to live music on Friday nights or spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott Brawley and wife Amy of Lenoir, Andrea Bolick and husband, Jeremy of Granite Falls, grandchildren, Cierra Goin and husband Keso of Granite Falls, Kaitlyn Garner and husband Ryan of Columbia, SC, Jiles Bolick of Granite Falls, four great-grandchildren, step-children, Susan McGee and husband Rob with their children Brandy, Ashley and Robbie of Connelly Springs, Patti Guthrie and Betty Giles of Morganton, and six step- great grandchildren. Also surviving are special friends, Christine and Lori.

A funeral service to honor Maryetta will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Warlicks Baptist Church Cemetery in Connelly Springs.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:45 pm until 3:45 pm at First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss
