I did not know my uncle well. We talked to each other for the first time in several decades in 2013. My mother, Opal, was very fond of her brother and I was trying to know him better. Life interfered. I was in a serious accident and could only talk to him by telephone a couple of times before his death. By my brief encounters I am still sure Maynard was a good soul. He is now in a better place.

Maynard was my sister-in-law's father whom I felt blessed to have met. I'm sure he will be missed by many, but he is in his heavenly home now. And may God bless all the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
