Michael Patterson

Born November 12, 1948 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Millard “Greasy” Patterson and Claudia Corpening Patterson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Stevenson Patterson and one sister, Evon Patterson McQueary.

Mr. Patterson is survived by one son of Lenoir, Michael Torrell Patterson (Tameika Hathaway), four grandchildren, Terrick Patterson, Michaelan Patterson, A’Ziah Patterson, and Tahirah Hathaway, one nephew, Stevenson Patterson Jr., three nieces, Carmen McQueary, Rhodella Mcqueary, and Natalie Patterson, four great-nephews, Xavier Ferguson, Markeil McQueary, Little Theodore Ferguson, and Dienta Kincaid, and three great-nieces, Paige Ferguson, Keaisha McQueary, Shae McQueary.

Mr. Patterson was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and of the Baptist faith.

A Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Bishop Michael Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Ferguson, Donnell Thomas, Timmie Jolly, Henry Smith and Dennis Witherspoon.
