Mrs. Perry was born August 21, 1938 in Watauga County, NC to the late Everette Culler and Effie Roten Culler. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Whitnel, NC. She loved her church and was always excited for “church day”. She was known as “Granny” to everyone in her neighborhood and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Wayne Perry; an infant daughter, Diane Carol Perry; her twin brother, Benny Harold Culler; and her sister, Betty-Jo Sheffield.
Left behind to cherish Mrs. Perry’s memory are two sons, Melvin Perry and Douglas Perry; one daughter, Cheryl Perry; two sisters, Ella Gaye Wood and husband, Albert and Della Maye Brown; two grandchildren, Malcolm Perry and Nikki Norman; one great-grandson, Gabriel Perry; two step great-granddaughters, Jaylee and Lillie; and special friends, Sue Spears and Charles Swink.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Mrs. Perry’s life will follow the service at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Zionsville, NC. Pallbearers will include: Benny Sheffield, Jimmy Jones, Mark Jones, Charles Swink, Finley Watson, Nathan Watson and Billy Pagan.
