Nancy Diane Spears

Nancy "Diane" Spears, born on June 11, 1952, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 73. She was a resident of Lenoir, North Carolina. Diane was born June 11, 1952 in Wilkes County to the late Ernest Spears Jr. and Zora Vea Phillips Spears.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Hazel and two brothers, Harold and Donnie Spears.

Diane was a loving and dedicated Momma, Nana, and daughter, she loved her family with all her heart. She worked at Harper Furniture, Morganton Chair and later in life, she worked in the bakery at Walmart in Granite Falls. Diane loved the outdoors, working in her garden, camping, cooking, dancing, scrapbooking, and playing cards. She also spent much time researching and kept a significant record of her family history.

The family will receive friends for two hours, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Michelle Caldwell and husband Tyler of Lenoir, Jonie Short of Lenoir, Natalie Benfield and husband Justin of Granite Falls, her grandchildren, Katie Thomson and husband Matthew of Lenoir, Lexy Hudson and husband Ray of Mooresboro, Clayton Wright of Shelby, Jade Gonzalez of Granite Falls, Ethan Caldwell of Lenoir, Dillon Caldwell of Lenoir, her great grandchildren, Ayden, Malikai, Everleigh, Riverlynn, her three brothers, Larry Spears of Lenoir, Duane Spears and wife Millie of Lenoir, and Doug Spears and wife Janet of Lincolnton.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family whom she loved and cherished.
