Pamela Virginia Witherspoon

Pamela Virginia Witherspoon, affectionately known as Pam, age 70, of Lenoir, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born on August 10, 1956, in Caldwell County, North Carolina, to the late Miles Moore and Wilhelmina Roberts, Pam spent her life in the community she loved, and the community loved her in return.

Pam was a kind and caring soul who never met a stranger. Her warmth was immediate and genuine, and those who crossed her path were quickly treated like old friends. She gave her working years faithfully to the City of Lenoir and to Lowe's Home Improvement Store, where she was known for her dedication and gracious spirit.

Pam was elegance in motion. She was, without question, the most classy and stylish person in any room. Nothing was ever left to chance: the hat, the shoes, and the accessories all had to match, and she wore them with effortless grace. She carried that same sense of joy into her travels. She loved a good cruise, especially to the Bahamas, Jamaica, and the islands in between, where she could take in the sun and the sea in style. At home, her heart belonged to her beloved dog, Sir Jet, her faithful companion and constant joy.

Pam's greatest gift was her love, and she gave it freely. Beyond her own family, she opened her heart to several bonus children, whom she cared for, loved as her own, and looked after for many years. They will carry her love with them always.

A longtime, faithful member and usher at New Covenant United Methodist Church, Pam welcomed others through the doors of the sanctuary with the same warmth she showed everywhere she went.

Left to cherish Pam's memory are her husband of 47 years, Ira Harshaw; her brothers, James Witherspoon, Michael Moore, and Ernest Audrey; her sisters, Lisa Alexander and Lori Salter; her stepdaughter Ada Latoya Harshaw; her bonus children, Joshua Audrey, Adrienne Audrey, Tomeka Audrey, Miles Alexander, and Shanice Salter; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 426 Woodsway Ln NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service.
