Mrs. Carlton was born on September 14, 1938 in Caldwell County to the late Harold Eugene Craig and Edna Lois Isenhour Craig. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Wayne Carlton.
Patricia attended Appalachian State University and Lenoir Rhyne College, receiving her Masters Degree in Education. She taught for 33 years in the Caldwell County Schools, the last 10 years were spent teaching remedial reading classes. She was a member of St Johns Lutheran Church in Hudson where she served as President of the WELCA. She was also a member and served as President of her ADK Sisters Association and was a member of the Red Hat Womens Club. She loved flowers, cooking, word search, sewing, playing bridge, line dancing at the Senior Center and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years, Wayne Carlton of the home, sons, William Edward Carlton and wife Sandra of Dallas TX, Robert Brent Carlton and wife Tina of Hickory, daughter, Julia Beth Carlton Jewson of Hudson, a sister, Phyllis Lovins of Lenoir and her beloved grandchildren, Cassie and Chase Carlton of Dallas, TX, Savanna Carlton of Hickory and Bailey Harris and husband Jake of Hickory.
A graveside service will be held to honor Patricia on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir with Rev. Dr. Dan Duke officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Carlton, Bob Lingle, Skip Downs, Phil Burns, David Smith and Jake Harris.
Per CDC guidelines, masks will be required for the safety of all.
