

Paul Burns Ruppard, 91, of Lenoir passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Autumn Care of Drexel. Paul was born in Blowing Rock on November 16, 1934, to the late Roy and Rhoda Story Ruppard.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Setzer's Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, choir leader, Sunday School teacher and member of numerous church committees over the years. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division.
He and his wife served as volunteers for Samaritan's Purse. They supported the NC Baptist Men Disaster Relief. They were on the ground outside the Pentagon on 9/12. He was also an avid golfer.
Left to cherish Paul's memory are his loving wife of 68 years Dorothy Jeanette Triplett Ruppard, his son Ronnie Ruppard of Rutherford College, Michael Ruppard of McLeansville, Tony Ruppard and wife Angie of Hudson, Marshall Ruppard and wife Gina of Lenoir, Three grandchildren: Hayley Denton and husband Aaron of Charlottesville, VA, Sara Beth Ruppard of Wilkesboro, Anna Lee Ruppard of Durham, two great grandchildren: Miles and Logan Denton.
A funeral service will be held at 11:15 am on Friday, July 3 , 2026, at Setzer's Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chris Kirby and Rev. Raymond Spann. A private burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir following the service. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Setzer's Creek Baptist Church.
