Peggy Anita Hayes

Mrs. Hayes was born in Johnson County, TN to the late George Dowell and Verda Stewart Dowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Swan Hayes; two brothers and a sister.

She was retired from Broyhill Furniture with 25 years of service and was a faithful member of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her step-daughters, Teresa Eller of Lenoir, Judy Reed of Taylorsville, Peggy Martin of Lenoir and Susan Blizzard of Hickory; her sister-in-law, Shirley Dowell of Boone; four grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at Heavenly Hope Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bennie Greene officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Mountain City, TN.

The men of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church will service as pallbearers.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Heavenly Hope Baptist Church, 509 Ronquil Park Pl SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
