Reba Taylor Riley, 72, passed away on May 7, 2021. She was born in Wilkes County, NC to the late Janie and John Taylor. She married the love of her life, the late Paul Riley and raised their children as a devoted and loving mother. She was known for the love of her family and regarded as the matriarch of the family. Reba was also known for being an amazing cook, making the best gravy in the South. She loved to dance and her laugh would light up a room. She is loved by all that knew her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Ruby Ross; brother Jack Taylor and a grandson Gene Crump III.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother Gwyn Taylor of Newton; daughters Janey Trivette (James) Porter of Lenoir; Barbara Scott (Mike) Barlow of Hudson; six grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Hood of Atlanta, GA; Katherine Scott of Hudson; Nikki Scott of Hudson; Ben Barlow of Lenoir and Deanna Lawson of Lenoir. She also leaves behind one great granddaughter Lilly Hood and many nieces, nephews and extended family that she adored.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on May 11, 2021 with graveside services beginning at 11:30 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Stephen Widener will officiate. Online condolences may be left at www.pendrysfuneralhome.com.
