He was born February 10, 1939 in Yancey County to the late John Phillips and Gertrude Atkins Phillips.
Funeral service will be held 4pm Sunday, August 27, 2017 at East Flat Baptist Church with Pastors Billy Mitchell and Mike Vines officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 3pm to 4pm also at East Flat Baptist Church.
Reece worked in the Furniture industry as a Saw Operator for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Phillips; son, Richard Phillips; brother, Benny Phillips, sisters, Martha Price, Betty Lou Phillips; great grandchild, Virginia Phillips.
Reece is survived by his sons, Eldridge Phillips of Lenoir, Randy Phillips of Lenoir; sister, Ella Jane Keefer of Erwin, Tennessee.
