Lenoir-Rev. Robert Estle Brown, 86, of Lenoir steadily stepped onto the streets of gold and went home on Thursday February 14, 2019 with a peace that money can’t buy. This Godly man was born on September 28, 1932 to the late Robert Dewey and Ava Lee Jones Brown.
He was ordained as a minister on April 9, 1961 and spent his life spreading the gospel, loving his family and winning souls for the Lord.
Mr. Brown was a loving and devoted husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Curtis Brown and by brothers James Leonard Brown, Jessie Clay Brown and Joseph Bane Brown.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Mary Combs Brown, daughters, Robin (Rodney) Radcliffe of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathy (Bobby) Roark of Granite Falls, NC, Amanda (Joel) English of Winston-Salem, NC, Tina (Ron) Jennings of Elkin, NC, sister Ema Lou (James Clifford) Caudill of Lansing , brothers, Paul Raymond (Patsy) Brown of West Jefferson and Edward Herbert (Eloise) Brown of Winston-Salem, NC, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service to honor Rev. Brown will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Hamby, Rev. Ron Burgett and Rev. Allan Poteet officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
